 I called this class Mirrored Halls because some, but not all, of the interiors we will look at are very grand. Looking at 20th century painters who showed the interior we will consider how they adapted to a more modern approach. You will learn how to improve compositions and how to magnify the effects of light. How can you reduce detail whilst hinting at the different qualities of surfaces like carpet, textiles, polished wood, gilding, mirrors and marble. This has become a real passion for me and I have painted historic house interiors for over a year now. I have analysed what contemporary painters are doing in their work and will show you some options. I will also show you how to use some of my painting tricks.
