Kaffe Fasett - The Master of pattern and colour

Returning to my love of pattern I will look at the paintings and design work of Kaffe Fassett. He inspired a generation of knitters and tapestry makers, and was the first living textile artist to be given a solo show at the V&A. In many ways I think his work has parallels with that of Grayson Perry. On one level decorative, but it is also conceptual. This course is about letting go and making work that might surprise you and provide you with permission to be a different artist to the one that you thought you were. Our inspiration as a painter can’t come from painting alone, the world is full of applied art from which we can gain endless inspiration.
