In this class Paul revists some of the most amazing places he has visted which were also painted by John Singer Sargent ,using evovcative bravura brushstrokes and dazzling light and colour.  Expect amazing paintings of palazzos, canals and brilliant light, drawn from Paul's many sketchbooks and on location studies. 

Paul Minter will look at the paintings  that John Singer Sargent made while he travelled around the Mediterranean.

His evocative watercolours, his studies of brilliant light and economy of detail.

Sargent was a genius of suggestion and knew exactly what he was doing, and why.

Paul will paint at least two pictures, perhaps converting one of the water colours into an oil painting.
